So I was trying to figure out which health insurance to sign up for and I was looking at local providers. I found that every one of them offered "Complementary medicine". Naturally I was like well wtf does that mean?
So after some serching here it is:
"Complementary Medicine includes many forms of treatments and therapies that are not considered part of the conventional medicine. Complementary Medicine focuses on "building blocks for health" such as prevention and addressing the underlying cause of a disease, rather than simply treating the external symptoms. It teaches people to alter their responses to the stresses of daily life through self-care, a healthy diet and various manual and energy therapies."
I think that is pretty awesome, and I'm glad to see a general shift away from treatment of symptoms just to make people happy.
