Here is some software I find useful

Hamachi - Virtual Networking Software, great for sharing files. This program stands for what the internet is all about.

foobar2000 - a light music player which supports the FLAC format and uses virtually no system resources.

Bulk Rename Utility - for renaming multiple files at once, an indispensable time-saver if you're hardcore about organizing music or movies or anything else

i should really get hardcore about organizing music...

Lets you stream any media from your home computer to any other computer with internet.

i need a good free program for converting file types. particularly flac to high quality mp3. dBpoweramp is awesome, but the trial version only works for a few weeks :(

its firmware upgrade for your router, for those of us with old routers this free upgrade of software brings much needed current router technology, boost your wireless signal, control what applications and computers get what bandwidth. Lots of graphs to show you how your network if performing.
